Andrea De Domenico, head of the UN’s OCHA agency in the Palestinian territories, said on Wednesday that some 1.9 million people are thought to have been displaced in Gaza.

“We estimate that nine out of 10 people in the Gaza Strip have been displaced at least once, and unfortunately even 10 times since October,” De Domenico told reporters.

“We were previously estimating 1.7 (million), but after that number, there was the operation in Rafah, and there were additional displacements from Rafah,” he said, explaining the increase.
