During the daily press briefing from the office of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, it was stated that since the beginning of Israel’s ground operations on May 6, approximately 600,000 people, representing a quarter of Gaza’s population, have been displaced from Rafah.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Israeli army also issued two evacuation orders on May 14 and 15 in northern Gaza. Thus, the number of evacuation orders issued in Rafah and Gaza North since May 6 has risen to five.

Meanwhile, the UN World Food Programme announced that the threat of famine in Gaza has never been more significant.

At the latest press briefing of the UN World Food Programme at the WFP office, it was warned that due to the lack of supplies through the Kerem Shalom crossing since May 6, food and fuel could run out within a few days.
