European Commission President Leyen emphasized that the EU stands with Ukraine, saying: “We are transferring 1.5 billion euros of income from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine’s defence and reconstruction”.

Leyen stated that there could be no better symbol or purpose for Kremlin money than to make Ukraine and all of Europe a safer place to live.
